Karen Slipper (Sept)



These quick-knit slippers are a perfect crash course in colorwork. You will learn how to do stranded colorwork flat and in the round so you can work on knitting and purling in colorwork.  This pattern includes a heart-shape rosette on top, symbol of love and courage, and an XOXO pattern on the bottom. 
(Note:  this class is two sessions)


Date: Saturday, September 10th & September 24th
Time: 10:00 am -12:00 pm

Pre-work
-Do a swatch to make sure you have the correct yarn/needles to get gauge in colorwork.  If this is your first try at colorwork, do your gauge in stockinette.
-Gauge:  24 stitches = 4 inches or 10 cm
Note :  Sized for women’s small-medium fits a U.S 6-8 shoe size. If you need a larger size, move up a needle size from the gauge-size needle.

Materials Needed (bring or buy at the shop):

  • Two colors of DK weight yarn, 115 yards of each.
  • Double-point needles or long circular for Magic Loop needed to obtain gauge
  • 3mm crochet hook
