Advanced Beginner Spinning Class
Improve and hone your spinning skills! This advanced beginner class will help you better understand using your spinning wheel and how to improve your spinning techniques. The first half of class will be devoted to spinning, while the second half of class will be spent exploring a variety of fibers, yarn structure, tools used for spinning, finishing your handspun and most importantly, determining how much yarn you've spun and what weight it is.
Date: Monday, November 18th
Time: 11am-1pm
Cost: $20 plus materials
Prerequisites:
- Participants must have a spinning wheel to bring in good working order that they have some experience using.
- Participants should be able to spin at least a singles yarn (doesn't matter if it's for plying or to remain a singles).
- Please specify the wheel you will be bringing to class - Single or Double Treadle; Single Drive (Scotch or Irish) or Double Drive
Have a spinning wheel, but haven't been able to get spinning yet?
Take a one-on-one lesson to learn how to use your wheel so you can create beautiful handspun yarn! You will learn to use your spinning wheel and troubleshoot common hiccups for beginning spinners.
Cost: $50 plus materials for a two hour lesson
